Phased Array Antennas

The external characteristic of phased array antennas is that they consist of a flat plane with a large number of single radiators. Sometimes the single lines with the antenna arrays are recognizable. However, this surface is often covered with a smooth surface, so that only a square to an octagonal or round surface can be seen from the antenna.

(Aircraft nose radars have their category. With these antennas it is often not immediately recognizable whether they form a phased array or are only a large antenna array.)
